Privacy Policy
Joël's VIP Masterminds ("we", "us") is operated by Joël Poirier in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number, business details and anything else you enter when you buy a ticket, book a call, apply to a program or apply to sponsor an event.
- Payment information. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number - we receive only a confirmation, the amount and the last digits of the card.
- Basic site data. Standard technical information such as your browser type, device and pages visited, used only to understand how the site is performing.
- Event photography. Our events are photographed and filmed. See the Terms below.
Why we use it
To sell and confirm tickets, run the events, review applications, answer you, and - if you opted in - send you news about upcoming masterclasses and programs. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and we honour it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, ever. We share it only with the service providers that make the business run - payment processing, ticketing, email, scheduling and forms - and only as far as they need it to do that job. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, where local laws may apply. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Your choices
Write to joel@joelpoirier.ca to see what we hold about you, correct it, unsubscribe, or ask us to delete it. We keep records only as long as we need them for the events, our accounting and our legal obligations.
Terms & Conditions
By buying a ticket, joining a group or attending an event, you agree to the following.
Tickets and admission
- A ticket admits one person to the event named on it. Prices are in Canadian dollars.
- Capacity is the room. When a date sells out, the next one opens.
- Tickets are for your own use. You may transfer a ticket to someone else - just tell us the name beforehand.
- Speakers, schedule and venue are confirmed in good faith and can change. If a speaker cannot attend, we replace the segment rather than cancel the event.
Programs, memberships and applications
The Private Mastermind and the VIP Speaker Experience are annual commitments, are sold by application, and places are limited - an application is not a guarantee of a place. Speaking slots, podcast recordings and panel seats included in the VIP Speaker Experience are scheduled by mutual agreement within the program year and cannot be carried into the following year.
In the room
These rooms work because people are generous with each other. Come to connect, share and grow - not to pitch the room. We may ask anyone whose behaviour is disruptive, discriminatory or harassing to leave, without a refund. What members share in a mastermind discussion stays in the room.
Photography and recording
Our events are photographed and filmed for promotional use. By attending, you agree that your image may appear in our marketing. Tell a member of the team on arrival if you would rather not be photographed, and we will work around you. You may not record a speaker's session without their permission.
Content, results and liability
Everything shared at our events is for information and education. It is not legal, financial or tax advice, and we make no promise of any particular business result - what you get out of the room depends on what you bring to it. Speakers' views are their own. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us. You attend at your own risk and are responsible for your own belongings.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. We may update them; the version published here at the time of your purchase is the one that applies to it.
Refund Policy
Full refund if you ask more than seven days before the event. Inside seven days, we move your ticket to another date instead.
Event tickets
- More than 7 days before the event: email us and we refund you in full, to the original payment method.
- Within 7 days of the event: the seat is already paid for, so we credit your ticket to a future masterclass or you can send someone in your place.
- No-shows are not refunded.
- If we cancel or reschedule, you choose: a full refund or a seat at the new date.
Refunds are issued through Stripe and usually appear on your statement within five to ten business days. Tickets bought through a partner's platform - for example the eSAX VIP panel - follow that platform's own refund policy.
Memberships and programs
The Private Mastermind and the VIP Speaker Experience are annual commitments: because a place is held for you and dates are booked around you, annual fees are non-refundable once the program has started. If something serious comes up, talk to us - we would rather find a solution than hold a seat nobody is using. Sponsorship fees are non-refundable within thirty days of the event, once your branding has gone into production.
